Faculty of Sciences, Humanities and Social studies

The Faculty of Sciences and Humanities seeks to provide optimal training for educators teaching core subjects in schools. Spanning the humanities, natural sciences, mathematics, English, and physical education, the faculty combines high-level disciplinary knowledge with progressive pedagogy, preparing educators to teach these subjects in intellectually enriching and humanistic ways.

In addition to their teaching, faculty members are active researchers in their respective fields. At the heart of their work is the connection between disciplinary knowledge and questions of meaning and value for learners and society at large. Encompassing a wide range of disciplines, the faculty promotes interdisciplinary approaches that create innovative and original avenues for inquiry and teaching.

Our undergraduate programs are centered on specific disciplines while incorporating interdisciplinary courses and advanced pedagogical approaches, and emphasizing the educational value of knowledge. Our graduate programs offer opportunities for further academic, research, and educational development across disciplines, with a strong interdisciplinary orientation.

The Faculty of Science and Humanities sees itself not only as an academic space but also as a cultural and social hub. It promotes cultural and environmental sustainability and social activism, guided by the values of truth, critical thinking, social and environmental engagement, and peace. The faculty hosts events, conferences, and activities designed to advance these values.
