C: Research and Visual Literacy

The courses in this division, including the seminars, combine research experiences with practical creative work in the visual field (the design arts, the plastic arts and media, cinema and communication) in order to promote experiential, social and environmental educational opportunities.

Visual literacy in the service of education with a critical sociological approach - in the light of

(3 semester credits) The course focuses on the question of how visual presentations work in the service of education with a multi-cultural approach, from the desire to improve social conditions in Israel and the world. Within the framework of the course we will test and analyze educational projects that create a dialogue between cultural identities in society by using visual presentations in formal and informal education in Israel and the world.

Education for visual creativity and environmental education

This course will deal with the mutual relations between education for visual creativity and environmental education in the world of today with its environmental crisis. We will discuss the central questions: How are we in the creative education field, in the arts, design and cinema, meeting this environmental challenge? How are other organized groups trying to meet the challenge?
