About the Online College
From the moment it opened its doors in 1939, as a training center for teachers and educators in the kibbutz movement, Kibbutzim College in Tel-Aviv has been at the forefront of progressive education in Israel. In dialogue with advanced methods of teaching and learning developed in many parts of the world and as an outcome of independent research of the faculty, Kibbutzim College has adapted new pedagogies to the needs and reality of local students and schools.
The digital age made it possible to open new opportunities to people who previously didn't have access to our programs. Online teaching and learning break boundaries and bring global populations to our online classes. Students from all over the world are able to participate in our programs and our regular students can decide whether to drive to Tel Aviv or stay at home and hear the lecture from a distance. Students can actively participate and ask questions from anywhere and come at their convenience to the lovely, green campus and enjoy its on-site facilities.
Since 2009, the Kibbutzim Online College has been offering a growing number of certificate programs and online courses in various disciplines. Our far-reaching vision involves making available to people everywhere an ever-increasing number of degree and certificate programs presently taught exclusively face-to face. This vision demands that we develop and perfect pedagogies especially suited to teaching and learning in online environments. Many of the courses sponsored by the Center for International Studies are based on existing courses and programs. Others have been newly developed in cooperation with the disciplinary departments to meet the needs of a global population and have been designed for an online environment.
