The Art Department offers a unique Program in Arts corresponding with the most up to date trends in Contemporary Art. Similar to other Art Departments that have opened in the last few years, our department trains students to be creative artists in this modern era of scientific and technological advances. At the same time we view Art as an important field for social interaction and an important element for the creation of a cultural identity in society. The Program trains artists in the technical and theoretical aspects of Art and fosters the development of critical thinking with a view toward interaction with Art media both modern and traditional.
Most of the Art Studies take place in the campus in the heart of the Tel Aviv art scene. The school is part of a compound which includes the Center for Contemporary Art. The Compound features exhibits of Israeli and International artists including The International Biennial for Video Art, The International Biennial for the Exhibit, and a wide variety of events, symposiums, workshops and lectures that are held throughout the school year. The different activities of the Gallery constitute a part of the departmental curriculum and within this framework students are exposed to the different stages of the art process as fashioned by real artists and meet these artists, Israeli and International. The exhibit of the senior students at the end of the fourth year takes place at the Gallery in cooperation with the Curator Program which is a cooperative venture of Center for Contemporary Art and the Art Department of the College.
